Adaggio Covers Drake's Successful On The Violin

Big up Adaggio. Badman violist. Never thought I'd say those two words together in the same breath. Because I'm nice I'll throw in his playing along to Keri Hilson as well.

"That's when I start promising the world // even though I got a woman at home, it's past walking // and I wanna get past talking..." ( c ) Wiley

Wiley featuring Emeli Sande - Never Be Your Woman

This one's big. Wiley's non-Grime output in the last couple of weeks has been really impressive. None of this See Clear Now business.

Tinchy Stryder Does Sony Ericsson's Pocket TV

Jameela Jamil handcuffs herself to Tinchy for an afternoon and various vaguely humerous consequences follow. The main message of this story is that Jameela is alot, she's becoming a very funny presenter.

Tinchy's single is out on Monday, the album, Catch 22, is out August 17th. I've heard it, it's rather good, so go out and support it when it drops.

"You throw stones, can you see that I am human, I am breathing but you don't give a damn..." ( c ) Nneka

Nneka - Heartbeat (Chase and Status remix)

This is the best song I've heard all year.

That's a radio rip in the YouTube video, taken from 1Xtra. The full-length 320kpbs MP3 is blasting from my speakers on repeat as I type, but this will have to do you guys for now - it's definitely going into heavy Fresh Cuts rotation though.

It's the perfect rememdy to the BATTERED state I'm in post Global Gathering this weekend. In the last seven days I've discovered that I may need to give up drinking or else the open bars and free booze are definitely gonna do it to my life.

I'll do a Global post at some point this week, gotta do a writeup for the Redtop blog too, but big up Saj @ Spring PR. Chase and Status were fucking amazing, I've never seen them live before. Duppied the place. They were my highlight of the festival, and their set was when I was still sober. I have no memory of High Contrast's set, apart from him dropping a crazy edit of Skream's Going In For The Kill remix. I might've imagined that though? Anyway here's a photo of the crowd during Chase and Status' set. Can't remember what they dropped at this exact point, but judging by the reaction it was something massive.

Mumzy Stranger - One More Dance (VIDEO)

I've had this promo CD sitting in my room for the longest time and I didn't even listen to it until today. My mistake, this actually quite good, and the Crazy Cousinz mix is pretty solid too. Bit reminiscent of Jay Sean vocally (might be the Rishi Rich touch) but the video looks good and it's catchy. Out now on iTunes.

"You will outwin who? The loudest crew // of Tinchy, me and Dizzee are the proudest two..." ( c ) Wiley

Wiley - The Elusive (Intro)

So now he knows what we want from him, does that mean no more Auto-Tune and Olly Olly business? The first verse is disgusting.

"The UK's getting used to me // but if you're out of the UK, google me..." ( c ) Chipmunk

Mr Munk spits some big bars over Numb/Encore on Swerve's show. Chipmunk's never shit. You might not like Diamond Rings or Chip Diddy Chip but he's never shit. Congrats to him for the success of the single, the next single is a monster, will probably chart even higher.

"Before you make the biggest mistake of your life // just give me a chance to get it right..." ( c ) Mr Hudson

Mr Hudson featuring Kanye West - Supernova (Live @ iTunes Festival, Roundhouse)

Here's the official footage of Hudson and Yeezy's 12-minute long performance at the iTunes Festival last week. Spotted at Mr Hudson's blog. Kanye once described this song as one that an entire stadium would could sing along to - that's exactly what it is, a crowd-pleasing anthem. The crowd at the Roundhouse that night loved it - this video doesn't completely demonstrate how loudly they were singing along to every single word.

Supernova is out on Monday. You can pre-order it here. Mr Hudson is an artist who most definitely deserves the success he's had in the last year, so let's support our own and get him a UK Number One with a phenomenal song. Not to tempt fate!

"Mr Kanye Omari, with my entourage, no Ari..." ( c ) Kanye West

Twista featuring Kanye West - Alright

Kanye got baaaare reloads first time I heard this. The beat is fucked as well.

"We live beneath the shadow, we live beneath the light // we leave beneath the moonshine somewhere underneath the night..." ( c ) Benjamin Zephaniah

Toddla T featuring Benjamin Zephaniah and Joe Goddard - Rebel

This kid's good. Possibly the world's most unlikely collaboration (at least since MOP and Light Funky Ones). What an album! Skanky Skanky is out now, definitely worth picking up.

Entourage Season Six starts tonight!

They're baaaaack...

"When the shadows in the sun grow long // we listen to a slow, slow song..." ( c ) Mike Skinner

Giggs featuring The Streets - Slow Songs

Jeeeez. Nah seriously, this is heavy. Personally I like Skinner's verse, he makes exactly the same amount of sense as Giggs and say what you like but he's got presence on the track.

"I need an umbrella, can Rihanna come and save me, come and save me from the rain..." ( c ) Charlie Brown

Bless Beats featuring Charlie Brown and Wiley - The Rain (VIDEO)

Shouts to CB (no relation to Chris, despite the pining for Rihanna... but really, aren't we all pining for Rihanna?!). He was our first ever guest on Fresh Cuts way back when and pretty much set the standard for performances when artists pass through our spot. Massive talent. In fact, you can listen to his interview and session with us here. About 16 minutes in.

The song is HEAVY (and not just because we were one of the first in the country to play it!) and the video looks great. I'll forgive them for the lack of a DeeKay and Chinners cameo because unless we were window cleaners I can't really see us being fit into the treatment. And Chinners wouldn't be on no window cleaning. Reliable as always, Wiley's not actually in it, but to be fair it doesn't make a difference for two reasons. Firstly, Bless gets more screen time and secondly it's not like the general public know what Wiley looks like anyway; he wasn't one of the girls in the fox costumes eating chicken out of a bin in the Rolex video was he?!

I'll say this one more time - remember the name Charlie Brown, I'm sure this isn't the last time you'll hear it.

"The Rain" is out August 23rd.

Mr Hudson and Kanye West - Supernova (VIDEO - Live @ The Roundhouse)

Here's some of my footage of the second half of Mr Hudson and Kanye's performance of Supernova. They performed the whole song, let it finish and then came back again with this back and forth. Nice moment between the pair of them. And my video might be a little shakey (crowd were understandably going nuts) but the sound quality is phenomenal. I'll upload the rest of the videos at the weekend. I've got Hudson and Cudi, Cudi doing "Day and Night", Kanye and Hudson doing "Heartless", "Paranoid" and the whole of "Supernova" and Hudson giving an phenomenal performance of "There Will Be Tears."

Mr Hudson @ iTunes Festival 2009, The Roundhouse

What a show! The UK's very own Mr Hudson played the iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse in Camden last night and brought out a couple of friends.

In 10 years time from now when Mr Hudson is a global phenomenon, this Roundhouse show will be fondly remembered as one of the defining moments of his career. He rocked the stage just fine without his illustrious guests, with much of the crowd singing along in unison to a few of the more well-known tracks from debut album A Tale of Two Cities. With that said, when Kid Cudi emerged and then went on to perform "Day N Nite", the crowd went wild. The biggest cheer of the night was reserved for the most special of Mr Hudson's guests, his boss Kanye West. West emerged singing "Heartless", leaving the 3000+ capacity Roundhouse in raptures. The pair went on to perform West's "Paranoid" and an amazing seven-minute long rendition of Hudson's latest single "Supernova" with the crowd faithfully reciting every word.

Shit was epic. I've got some great videos, so watch out for those, I'll upload them at some point soon.

"I'm losing my religion to tomorrow's headlines // Forest Gate, "sorry mate?", nah nothing, it's fine..." ( c ) Riz MC

Riz MC - Sour Times

LISTEN to the words! I don't wanna find myself on a watch list, but Riz speaks nothing but truth. One of my favourite British actors and MCs.

Drake - Best I Ever Had (Video)

Oh Drake's in this?! Where?! I must've missed him.

Directed by Kanye West.
