DJ DeeKay - In The Mix

"I'm a rapper, slash nang singer-songwriter // from when I was a younger, even up to this day // man are tryna drag me under..." ( c ) Dappy

N-Dubz featuring Skepta - Na Na (remix)

Don't get it twisted, two years ago N-Dubz kicked the door open. 90% of the artists from our scene that've made it through now are there as a direct result of Dappy, Tulisa and Fazer's work.

Oh and I like Skepta on this but let's be real, Wiley's verse on the original was better.

"It's only right I'm wearing my rolex... hello? Standard procedure..." ( c ) Wiley

Emeli Sande - Never Be Your Woman (Live Acoustic)

Damn. I wasn't totally convinced until now but having seen this, I'm definitely a believer in Emeli Sande. I'm listening to it for what must be the tenth time in half an hour and it still gives me goosebumps. That's the second time in a month that the original version of this song has been rendered utterly irrelevant.

And I'm suddenly very upset I missed her at ILuvLive last month. What a talent. And she's a fourth-year med student! And having just done a bit more YouTube'ing, she's also one hell of a songwriter.

I'm putting it out there now - a Bluey Robinson/Emeli Sande duet needs to happen as soon as possible. A&Rs wake up.

Here's her cover of I Blame Coco's Ceasar just in case you weren't sold yet. On a side note, I like it when singers swear from time to time.

A-List - Midnight Lover (VIDEO)

This is just bad. A couple of the girls are alright so I'm posting it, and it might be a few people's thing to see grime MCs swagger-jack Trey Songz. So to the girls that wish you could be Wiley's main squeeze - this is your time.

Just dead that fucking Auto-Tune now please. 2008 and 2009 we let you run with it, in 2010 can we leave it as a pitch-correction tool for geordie popstars (and a couple other man who'll remain nameless) that can't sing?

By the way whoever wrote that hook should write R&B. No par, it's a strong melody for a H-Townesque R&B group. Oh and J2K is the only one who did anything on this track.

"I'm hard to follow once I pop the clutch and hit the throttle..." ( c ) T.I.

Jamie Foxx featuring Justin Timberlake and T.I. - Winner

So apparently Jamie's got a new album out soon, and this is from that.

Thank god Tip's back. This shit is champion theme music.

Fresh Cuts Live - CD Spinz, McLean and Marvell Videos

Check out me and Chinners in the first video. That show did alot for my ego. Anyway, here's the in-house of CD Spinz + Laurie Unwin, Marvell and McLean's highlights from Fresh Cuts Live. Big up the director Kevin.

We can't let go of Bluey's video just yet, but it's pretty much amazing. I know because I'm watching it right now. On a private stream. Because I'm goonish like that.

Nah but seriously, the highlights of Bluey Robinson's performance at Fresh Cuts Live will hopefully be up on the Fresh Cuts YouTube channel by the end of the week, so keep a look out for that.

"We got hit with the love, no armour // attitude straight from the Gaza..." ( c ) Wretch 32

Wretch 32 - Soldier of Love

This is actually pretty heavy. Wretch on Sade's joint. Still ain't heard her album yet, that's something to do this week.

"I swear I always fall for your type..." ( c ) Drake

Drake - Fall For Your Type

Rumour has it that this is a demo for Jamie Foxx which would be an epic waste of what could be a phenomenal Drake track. This is two minutes of greatness from Drizzy which would become four minutes of corny chameleon wackness if Jamie got his hands on it.

I used to be the biggest Jamie Foxx fan. Unpredictable was a crazy album. How did dude get so damn annoying?! I might just be hating because he got to date Stacey Dash.

Usher - There Goes My Baby

Best track on the album and one of the best Usher tracks in years. It's very 90s R&B to me - Usher's falsetto doesn't seem to be what it once was though. Nonetheless this is amazing.

Lady In My Life anyone? Maybe it's just me.

"Let me love you right, coz the love you left // was just a mess, you must regret..." ( c ) Tinie Tempah

ZeeKay featuring Tinie Tempah - Love You Right

Now's a good time to be an Asian R&B singer with a Tinie Tempah feature. In which case ZeeKay has two very good things going for him right now. Three if you count the similarity of his name to mine (he's not my singing alter-ego, I swear).

Great track for the Summer, I love it. Not as much as I love that Jay Sean and Tinie Tempah track that leaked last year and then never got used for anything when it should've been the sound of the Summer, but still.

Tinie did his first verse on this about a year ago when he came down to Roundhouse Radio to do Fresh Cuts and killed off the Next Hype instrumental.

Don't watch the shitty use of YouTube, video editing isn't one of my strengths. Which is why I left editing the Fresh Cuts Live video to a professional, as you'll see when it goes up this week.

Young Nate - Break The Chain (Produced by Nytz)

This is ridiculous. I'm very impressed with how Nytz is moving right now, I've heard some great production from him lately.

I still believe it's just a matter of time until Young Nate breaks through. We'll see how the album sounds, but he's dropped enough strong R&B singles to be considered a genuine prospect.

Mixed Messages, I Wonder and Be The One were all well-written, incredibly catchy tracks. Fingers crossed the boy gets his chance, we've been supporting.

Oh and standardly you're gonna hear this on Fresh Cuts frequently in the near future.

"This ain't a quick ting, we'll be running laps..." ( c ) Giggs

Emeli Sande featuring Giggs - Never Be Your Woman (Craze and Hoax remix)

What?! This remix is just disgusting. The original is pretty great, and this remix almost makes it entirely irrelevant which is a serious achievement. The very definition of flipping a song completely for a remix.

Roll Deep featuring Jodie Conor - Good Times (VIDEO)

Wiley's still in Roll Deep then? Good for them. This could really have been his and Jodie's track and sit nicely alongside his recent commercial output.

I know I shouldn't really like this but I sort of really do. I suspect it might be because the first time I'm hearing it, it's accompanied by ^those^ visuals. Which could make a man buy anything really.

It's alright and it's out 25th April if you're interested.

Craig David Launch Party

Listen, my photography skills aren't showing any levels. I just really wanted to try out this Flickr business and embed some slideshows into my posts and ting.

On a separate note, Craig's still got it and can sing his ass off (pause), however the choice of a non-playing band for decoration was such a par. Especially as we'd put the real thing on just a couple of days earlier at the Roundhouse.

The drummer was just playing her cymbals all night. I don't think she even touched the toms or the kick. The guitarist didn't seem to be playing anything even near the chords in the actual songs and don't even get me started on the bass player. On the other hand though, the girl playing bass looked a bit like Cassie and I definitely wouldn't have kicked her out of bed.

And you can't even hype about my blatantly misogyny there because seriously... if you're going to be on stage as a female musician who is part of an "all-female band" and you're not actually playing your instrument and dressed in some skimpy anything, then really it's a self-par situation and I can say what I like.

It's A Woman's World!

Selah featuring Sadie Ama, Mz Bratt and Duchess - Woman's World

Produced by Davinche. Who, alongside Labrinth, is moving the scene forward in terms of production levels, sound and creativity. D's beats lately have been straight epic.

Some of the hottest women in the game right now. You're definitely going to be hearing this on Fresh Cuts loads in the next few weeks. Bratt's really coming into her own, she's going to be a major force very soon. And she's not doing it on some skettish Lil' Kim vibe, which is the most impressive thing.

This video's going to be fun to watch. Just saying.

McLean - My Name Out Now!

McLean - My Name (Acoustic)

Let's get the nicest guy in R&B into the Top 10 on Sunday. He's doing alright in the mid-week chart, a big push now is all it'll take. I finally bought my copy a few minutes ago, and I've had it for a few months, so if you like the track please go out and do the same, whether you've already got some crappy sounding, low-quality MP3 or not. This man is immensely talented, the song is amazing and moreso than most he genuinely deserves our of support.

Can't wait for that album. Asylum/Atlantic/Warner, if you're reading this, you'd best make sure Try Me is on there too. I don't want to have to instigate a worldwide boycott of Flo-Rida's next classic.

On a side note, I saw the McLean footage from Fresh Cuts Live being edited at the Roundhouse yesterday and it looks awesome. Can't wait until it's all ready.

Some Fresh Cuts Live Videos...

A couple more fan videos from Bluey's set. No decent quality videos of Marvell and McLean have turned up yet but I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I'm going to check out what we got in-house today. And hopefully listen back to the performances. The excitement!

PS Think of Me was my favourite performance of the night. What a way to start the show! And the crowd were going as crazy all night as they sound in these videos.

Fresh Cuts Live - First Thoughts

Not on an overly sentimental tip but I can't explain the feeling when I watch this video. It's emotional. I was at the rehearsal and the soundcheck but seeing the crowd's reaction to Bluey is something else. There's no words that sufficiently describe the high regard I hold that boy in and I think everybody in that room, whether they were already fans of him or not left a believer.

All three acts did us proud on that stage and the band were stunning. In all honesty, I have no desire to ORGANISE anything like that again, but it was worth every second of stress (on my mind and my bank balance!). Oh and that crowd was pretty much amazing. That was mine and Chinners' first time on stage, I could definitely get used to that, the crowd gave a lot of love. Bluey introducing me - one of the best thing ever. I hope someone's got that on camera!

Shout to Incisive for the above footage.

This is more of a personal thing because I know 75% of them won't ever read this, but seeing as I couldn't shout you all individually on stage, I need to show love to: Mike, Jack, Paru, Anish, Samiat, Selica, Toni, Jaz, Simran, Kavita, Lawrence, Vim, Ilie and Amir. I hope I didn't forget anyone.

"It's about time that you admit it, who you kidding? // Man nobody's ever done it like I did it..." ( c ) Drake

Drake - Over

So this is the first single from Drake's Thank Me Later. Most anticipated 'debut' single in recent Hip-Hop history? There was no way it could ever live up to the hype.

The verses are PACKED with quotables, but I'm not a fan of the chorus at all. Especially coming from an artist who has built a reputation for writing killer hooks. That Dead Prez flow on verse two is hard though.

Fresh Cuts Live This Sunday

Here's our headliner Bluey Robinson talking about the show, signing to Sony, and more.

Here's Bluey cheekily hijacking the piano section in Harrods for a couple of minutes to cause more of his trademark public nuisance. London - where's the love?

I'll say it again, if he sounds this good with a piano in Harrods, imagine how he's going to sound with his five-piece band on Sunday night.

Bluey Robinson, McLean and Marvell and Fresh Cuts Live. Tickets are only £10 and there's still a few on sale.

Ed Sheeran Does SB.TV

Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You (Acoustic)

This is kind of serious. SB's really changed the game.

I do wonder who came first though, Maverick Sabre or Ed Sheeran? Both are massively hyped, and they're not THAT similar, but there's some definite comparisons to be made. No racism.

This one's pretty much amazing though:

Ed Sheeran - This City
